The massive task of judging the dairy cattle competition at AgriScot will this year fall on the shoulders of just one man, David Mayo, from New South Wales, Australia. However, his judging pedigree is like the cattle he will be placing - top class.

The AgriScot dairy competition is now recognised as the premier event
in the country attracting entries from the top herds. Last year there were three breed judges and one judge for the overall championships but this year, Mr Mayo, will be in sole charge from the beginning to the end.

Not only has he judged all three breeds at all the Royal shows in Australia,
he has also placed the dairy cattle in top competitions in New Zealand, Finland and Canada.

Commenting on his forthcoming stint in the ring at AgriScot which this
year will be held on Wednesday 18th of November at Ingliston, Mr Mayo said he was looking forward to the experience. "You have some of the top dairy
cattle in the world in the United Kingdom and I am honoured to have been
asked to judge them."

He was brought up on the family dairy farm where he was herd manager of the noted Parkvale herd but he also spends time as the development manager in Australia and New Zealand for a leading cattle breeding company..

He and his wife Sharon started their own Regal Park herd in 1990 and
they have enjoyed wide success with their stock with thirteen
championship winners at the Sydney Royal Show and eleven All-Australian
winners.
