Press Release (14 October 2009)
New Products Competition
The AgriScot New Product Competition looks to reward both innovation and commercial potential amongst agricultural products. Pushing boundaries and recognising demand for product development, the winner will need to demonstrate ingenuity and uniqueness as well as business potential.
Open to any product being exhibited at the show, the competition is the ideal chance to get new products known within the market place.
Last year’s winner was the Greenoak Airwash system, a new product aimed at helping dairy farmers cut down on mastitis spread. The product is aimed at sterilising each individual liner on the milking cluster between cows, so that cross-infection via the liners is avoided.
A runaway success in Holland where it is imported from, the system is now proving to be popular here in Scotland. Mike Watson of Greenoak said: "We were proud to have won the new product award for 2008 and truly believe the prestige of winning enhanced the standing within the dairy community of the Airwash system and even a year on we are still receiving enquiries with reference to Agriscot 2008 and the award."
Entries for this year’s competition will be judged during the afternoon of Tuesday 17th November by judges Bill Hamilton, Hugh Black and the Scottish Farmer’s very own Alasdair Fletcher.
All entries into the competition will be listed in the official event catalogue.
With the deadline for the AgriScot new product competition fast approaching, organisers are encouraging exhibitors to let them know about their latest innovations.
