Proposal For Single Winter Event In 2008

Following a meeting of its Management Committee today (March 21), AgriScot has proposed that there should be a single winter agricultural event in Scotland from 2008.

AgriScot has suggested that a steering committee be formed comprising representatives of the Scottish National Fatstock Club, the Scottish Dairy Cattle Association, NFU Scotland, the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society and the supply trade, with an independent chairman to be nominated.

AgriScot stresses that any proposed event has to be financially viable and provided that positive budgets can be put in place by August 31, 2007, looks forward to all parties working together to deliver a national event for the benefit of the Scottish agricultural industry.
