£1000 Prize For Super Team Winner

The Scottish Dairy Cattle Association, with the support of Genus ABS, are once again sponsoring a travel scholarship for the winning individual in the Super Team competition.

The scholarship, worth £1000, is to assist travel abroad to study dairy cattle selection.
Previous winners have headed for North America and Canada but the choice of country is open to the winner.

The Super Team competition features teams of young farmers and young breeders with each team receiving training prior to AgriScot on stock-judging and sire selection.

Jack Lawson of the SDCA said: “The training aspect is the most important part of this competition as nearly every semen company now reports that their young customers are taking a much more structured and sensible approach to sire selection for their herds. This must be good for the dairy industry.”

The AgriScot Super Team competition is also sponsored by CIS, Holstein UK and the MDC.
