Livestock Judging

Once again the show ring at AgriScot will be the show-stopping centrepiece of the event that attracts dairy cattle breeders from all over the UK and beyond. Visitors and livestock exhibitors can look forward to a packed ringside adding dramatically to the atmosphere.

The Dairy Cattle Classes Prize Schedule and Entry Form will be available in September 2013.

2012 AgriScot Judge

One of the most experienced cattle judges in the country took the responsibility of choosing the SuperCow champion and all the other prize winners at AgriScot 2012.

John Gribbon has not only judged at all the major shows in the UK but he has also successfully exhibited dairy cattle and won championships at every National show in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

He was born into the dairy industry starting work with a pedigree Holstein herd in Norfolk that won the Gold Cup for best herd in the UK on 3 occasions. He then went on to manage the Sharcombe herd taking the honours at the Royal Show on 3 occasions and the European Dairy Farming Event 9 times in a 12 year period.

After joining Holstein UK 20 years ago as a Classifier, he rose to be Breed Development Executive & Head Classifier; a position he held until his retirement last year.

During this period he judged all the major dairy breeds at all the major shows in the UK as well as taking the responsibility for placing the cattle at national shows in many European countries and other countries around the world.
