What to expect at AgriScot

Some of the attractions that you will find at AgriScot are described below.  More detail can be found on the News page.  A full programme for the event can be found here nearer the event.

Trade Stands

AgriScot is now recognised as the place to do business. Whether you are interested in machinery, livestock supplies, or professional advice, there will be a choice of exhibitors at the event.

Dairy Championship

Some of the best cattle from the top herds in the United Kingdom will come forward to be placed by the appointed judge. First he will choose his breed champions and then he will pick his overall winner who will take home the first prize of £1,000.

Beef Demonstration

Now recognised as one of the main attractions at AgriScot, the 2013 practical demonstration will focus on a new topic that is sure to be of interest to the commercial farmer. Cattle industry expert, Dr Basil Lowman will be on hand to share his knowledge and insight. You can view the 2012 demonstration here when Basil, with the help of students from SRUC and their cattle, explained in visual terms how feeding can both save and cost money.

Seminars

Take a break from the busy exhibition halls and listen to the latest moves in the political world. Other seminars will concentrate on topical aspects of modern day farming.

Hoof Trimming Demonstration

AgriScot will once again provide practical demonstrations on how to prevent lameness in dairy cattle. This is one of the big problems in the modern dairy herd and it is estimated that one quarter of all cows have problems with lameness.

Silage Competition

Attracting huge interest before, during and after the event is the Watson Seeds Silage Competition.  We'll have more information about this year's spectacle here soon.

Business Skills Competition

Come and see the culmination of this country wide competition with the next generation taking up the challenge to show their business skills. The winner will walk away with a cheque for £1,000.
