AgriScot 2008 - Record Breaker
A Review
AgriScot, Scotland's leading farm business event, attracted record numbers of visitors to its 2008 event held in the exhibition halls at Ingliston, Edinburgh. With more than 200 trade stands, a top level dairy competition and a live beef cattle demonstration, there was plenty for the 8,000 plus visitors to see and do.
Chairman of the organising committee, Robin Young, said the busy exhibition halls were a vindication of the decision to provide a wide range of relevant attractions for those who came to the exhibition.
“It was particularly pleasing to see that large numbers of farmers and others related to the agricultural industry who now use AgriScot as the place to do business.
“There is no doubt that free entry and free car parking helps to attract visitors to AgriScot but it now also has a reputation where those in the industry can meet and do business as well as learn of new products and husbandry techniques.”
“Having the SuperCow championship back helped make the show a big success and it is obvious with entries from top exhibitors coming from all over the United Kingdom that this competition is seen as the top event in the winter calendar.”
“Again having leading politicians heading up our seminar programme proved successful as it is critical that those working in the industry are kept abreast of the latest issues and problems.”
Work is already underway for the 2009 event with the organising committee keen to build on the success of the 2008 show.
